Can a 300 watt heater be used for a 10 gallon it has a thermostat

Sure, it will only heat to the temperature its set to. The only problem would be if it goes wrong and sticks on, then a 300w would boil anything in the tank, but this is a rare occurance, so I wouldnt be too worried.

Yes agreed with minx, other thing is usually 300watts are much bigger than smaller ones,so have to probally lay at an angle
