??heaters dont calibrate themselvesturn it off for 15+ min so it can calibrate
Edit: leave it in the water still
cheers my other tanks got a jewel 200 watt one in and thats spot onwhen heaters go off it takes a while for them to cool down so they still carry on heating the water, but it could also have failed, keep an eye on the temp so you dont boil your fish, otherwise its just out
its a pretty normal thing, mist heaters are 2-3 degrees outcheers my other tanks got a jewel 200 watt one in and thats spot onwhen heaters go off it takes a while for them to cool down so they still carry on heating the water, but it could also have failed, keep an eye on the temp so you dont boil your fish, otherwise its just out
i dont see why i should put up with something thats not working propper
i would take it back but the bloke didnt seem to wanna take it back after it turned
off after one minute when i first put the new heater in
what plug it in out of water? that will burn it out and possible burn you.i just dont trust its a shame i let the bloke talk me into buy it
i was going to get a juwel he was saying how good they were and were shater proof and that you could turn the heater one then put it in water and it would still be fine
so how do they determine when to turn on/off automatically? And how are they able to achieve that in different volumes of water?heaters dont calibrate themselvesturn it off for 15+ min so it can calibrate
Edit: leave it in the water still
they have a built in thermostat just like a house heating system, it measures the temperature using a strip which expands and will trigger a micro switch which turns it off turns it off. some work differently. the volume doesnt matter, its just on for longerso how do they determine when to turn on/off automatically? he plugged it in out of water? whats he trying to do? set fire to the place or get glass shards in you?the bloke in the lfs pluged it in the first time i took it back yesterday
thing im going to try and take it back tomorrow and see if they will exchange for a diffrent one
