Heater Problem

Just about to head to bed when I turned off the lights I noticed the element in my heater is glowing. I've never seen this before and was wondering if its normal or should I be changing the heater.

+1 that's what it means on my heater. I only see it in winter though since in summer here the heater never turns on so sometimes it is a bit of a surprise to me to see it glowing.

Thanks for replys, its the first time i'd had a good look when the lights were off. Kept a good eye on temp and nohing changed.
