she does look eggy, but has no ovipositor, has longer then normal ventrals, and flares like a boy, Shes a piggy which maybe could account for the chubby tummy, lol. I just don't know.
This banding confuses me..I know when they are feeling frisky the girls get bands downwards, and stress stripes when worried.
But, my new boy stresses when moved and pales visibly. Now I can honestly say none of my vts, nor my hm pk have ever striped so is it cos he is young or what?

Bettas also get vertical stripes as a sign of dominance, though, so it could still be a young male even if he/she shows stripes (males will get stress stripes sometimes too).
My guess is that it's a male. And a very pretty one at that.
