Hi i was wondering if anyone has kept any of these fish and if so can you give your experience with them:

1)were they aggressive or not?
2)can you keep them with other fish in community or not??
3)were they easy to breed??

thanks everybody :good:

apistogramma borelli
Apistogramma cacatuoides
APISTO HONGSLOI
DICROSSUS FILAMENTOSA (CHEQUERBOARDS)
LAETACARA CURVICEPS
LAETACARA DORSIGER RED
NANACARA ANOMOLA.

could you give common names? im bad with latin

i really dont know anything about them then, sorry!

4. Could be a checkerboard cichlid. Crenicara filamentosa. This is about 7.5cm from south america, pretty fish sensetive to water conditions. This fish needs places to hide, soft water and a temperature of about 24c.
5. Sheepshead acara / Flag Cichlid. This is about 7.5cm from south america. Requires flat rocks and can't be kept with larger fish as it's easily intimidated. also likes soft water and a temp of 24c.

i've previously kept both apistogramma and i currently have nanancara

all beautiful little fish and v similar in character. basically nice additions to a community tank. make sure they have plenty of caves/hiding spaces. good mixed diet and they're lovely little fish.

as a word of warning though, be careful with what community tankmates you put in with them if you have them as juvi's. they're fairly shy while young and anything v greedy or fast like danio's will hog all their food and they will struggle to feed, problem i had myself so had to switch around the stocking until they got a bit older.

the nanancara are slightly hardier and less sensitive, but it's marginal, nothing serious.

I guess they are all cichilds and then they are aggressive.

well yes maybe aggressive, but to what extent?

aggressive is relative isn't it.

you shouldn't have any issues with these unless you a) keep them with v sensitive shy fish, or b) don't give them adequate territories.

these fish have just got a little bit of spunk, little bit of attitude, but they're not massivley aggressive at all!
