i have re-homed my 2 spirulus 1 of my geophagus surinamensis and a firemouth. too much fighting over territory . i think i had tried to get too many ciichlids in 1 space. also i have developed a bit of a thing for catfish lately and the extra space has allowed me to buy a nice featherfin synodontis which i saw in my lfs at around 5.5 inches .

so stocking now stands at

vinny my red sev ( in my avatar)
juvenile green sev
blue acara
1 geophagus surinamensis
L081 small spot golden nugget
1 featherfin synodontis
18 corys
10 tiger barbs

so far so good the tank is much more mellow and relaxed and nobody is fighting any more .

I love the geophagus surinamensis , below is one of mine that i had. I too found them terratorial even when only a few inches . I got rid of mine to someone with a 6x2x2 as they get on better there.

I've seen one fully grown and they look superb just wish i had the space to keep a group

the synodontis is still quite shy shelagh so difficult to get good pics at the moment. i want to get 1 of him with fins all fanned out .

heres a few fairly recent pics of the remaining cichlids tho .

the geo i kept. the 1 i got rid of was the dominant 1 and much more colourfull but since he went this 1 has been getting stronger colours so should be stunnin soon .
