I was contacted by a local, privately owned pet store about selling wholesale.

I was originally downsizing my stock numbers to take a break from breeding, and I have been made an offer to be a sole supplier to the store. They are looking to get into more of an amphibian and reptilian selection and want to source local breeders. They also want me to set up a larger tank in their shop as a display tank for adults.

Guess I am going to be busy. It is going to take a couple months before I have froglets big enough for selling, and in the mean time they are remodelling a portion of the store....but until then....WOO HOO!

Thank you! It will be a few months before it all comes together - sometime early next year before I have a new batch of froglets ready, but I am quite excited none the less.

Not really much operating costs - - I already have all the equipment I need. I have a few spare 30 gallon storage tubs that I used for transporting and housing fish and frogs when we were moving, spare aerators and airstones, already buy tons of food - I still have quite a bit of tadpole food made up from my last batch and I make it out of the food I feed the adults so I already have it around...

With my other tanks around I am already often doing water changes and have bottles of conditioner around.

If I get a decent sized batch (say out of the almost 2000 eggs she can lay, even if only a couple hundred successfully morph) at $1-2 a piece depending on the color they morph, it will be just fine for me! I have a reticulated albino female who I will be mating...just trying to figure out if I want to mate her with a natural, albino, reticulated albino or a piebald male....

decisions decisions! I will start one batch now, then when the tadpoles are a couple/few weeks old I will start setting up another batch and so forth...

Sounds good. I include your time as part of the operating costs. You did mention you were thinking of taking a break from breeding, so I assume you would like to some return for your investment of time to make you want to continue the process. I've never bred, nor raised tadpoles, fry, etc. I can't imagine that it is easy, and I would think that it would take some substantial time commitment on a (nearly) daily basis.
