I'vve been looking at the moonlight LED strips on ebay. Has anyone tried these? Are they any good? Thanks for any replies

i have boughten two sets of LED strips from ebay. They have been working great for over a month now. heres a link to the guy i bought mine from. http://myworld.ebay.com/specialist_lighting_uk/

i see currently he doesnt have any up for sale, but ive bought blue and white strips from him and been very happy with them. i especially like how u can dim the lights by sliding the switch and lowering the voltage. its great. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160570098600&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2827wt_1140

yes the ones i have had sticky glue strips on the back, went directly onto the hood, they're not coming off without a fight.

I'll get some then. Do you leave the moonlight feature on all night? is it ok for the fish?

I have 2 "moonlight" arrangements. One is a 4 lamp fixture that I placed in my 6 foot tank and the other is 3 LEDs that I placed in a 3 foot long tank. In both cases the light was just enough to give a nice blue glow and enough light for me to make out the fish outlines after the main lights went off. I left both plugged in at all times because the LED lights were invisible with normal tank lighting. It didn't seem to bother the fish at all. After all, where is there total darkness at night? There is always some moonlight or starlight in any natural environment unless you are in a deep cave or something.

Thanks. Now I am unsure of how many to get. Either one strip of 24 or two strips of 24 attached to the same plug so I can have one stip at the front and back.

I have a 60 litre tank. What's best?

A strip of 24 sounds like an awful lot of light for a mere 60 litre tank. I would be looking for maybe 2 LEDs to give a moonlight effect to such a small tank.

Oh good job I asked here lol. I was gonna go for the two strips. I thought they had to go right along the langht of the tank hood. That will save me some money then lol.

you should be able to pick up a single strip with power supply for under $15 off ebay. and they would be perfect.
