Harlequins

Hi

I've just been reading on an online tropical shop about Harlequins. It says on there not to add them to your tank until it's fully mature. Is that true? I was planning on getting them second when I finally stock (Platys first) but if it's true should I leave them till last? Or even longer? When they say mature do they mean by months or does it just mean once it's cycled?

not sure but i think its better to leave tank a while and let it mature after its cycled

I heard they were pretty hardy. I got 6 of them after having my tank for about 3 weeks- while it was still cycling and I haven't had any problems with them yet!

i know someone that cycled there tank with Rasbora Espei, and they are doing OK.

I put 10 hengel rasbora in a couple of week after setting up whilst cycling and they were fine. My father also did the same with harlequin rasbora but lost 2 out of 12 id say they are pretty hardy ive never had any problems with them.

Harlequins were the first fish i put in the tank,and i would say they're hardy,although like adding any fish,keep an eye on the water stats
I've had 10 since last july

Ive got them and i put mine in when tank was cycled, been fine really nice looking and active fish mine all have nice orangey copper tones now were more silvery when i got them
