Harlequins Haven't Stopped....

Hi all

Since i put my harleys into their bigger tank they haven't stopped shoaling-5 hours!!,wears me out watching them,swimming constantly fast in circles,round and about the tank,looks like they're dancing!

I can't make up my mind to whether they're just happy in their bigger tank or whether something is wrong!

Am i worrying over nothing?

Don't worry so much. My rasboras in the 120 gallon tank never stop moving except when the light is off over night.

Yes, mine move about the tank all the time too. The group is tighter or looser at times but usually together. They probably like the additional space and are getting to know the tank.

I'm just "checking in in the middle" if you know what I mean, lol! I've been having the pleasure of observing lots and lots of shoaling behaviour by swimming right in with the fish! Been reef snorkling up to 6 hours a day! WD

There is nothing to worry about! some Fishes like the (black widow tetra, Harlequin rasbora, tiger barbs, Zebra Danios......etc) simply does not know how to stay still, your Harlequins are keeping moving probably becuase they are investigating their new home. On the contrary you are suppose to be happy not worried only healthy fishes will keep on moving around in the tank NOT HIDING ALL THE TIME. enjoy your Harlequins!

Mine also never stop moving. Harlequins are very active and bold, they don't hide like my corys... they're easy to watch. I can just walk up to the tank and plant myself in front of it to watch the harlequins, but if I do that, my corys run and hide... I've got to sneak up really slowly if I want to watch the corys and not scare them.

I agree they're fab fish

When they were in the 20 gal they use to shoal for a short time then would hover around,thats why i wondered if it was normal for them to race around
