Harlequin Rasboras Fighting

Hey everyone,

Today I have noticed that it seems two of my Harlequin Rasboras are fighting, they are swimming close next to eachother and both are kind of shaking then bumping each other. I have never noticed this before but recently removed 4 from my group of 10 to give to my mum for her Betta tank. I found a vid on tubeyou which shows what mine are doing.

I have a spare 20litre tank and have a cycled filter ready to use if need be, should I separate the two that are fighting?

Nothing to worry about this is normal behaviour to sort out the pecking order. Youll notice that the brightest coloured ones are the more dominant ones. My guys scrap all the time but no one seems to be suffering for it

Thanks, that has made me feel better about leaving them together. Mind you mine arnt going at it as fiercly as yours are so thats one good thing lol. When I fish noticed it I thought they were trying to mate

Lol me too, but mine have been together for a while with no ill effects, i had 6 originally then i upped them to 8 and they still have little battles. I will be increasing them to 12 eventually though - it may spread out the aggression if you end up with a couple who want to be boss man.

Nah they still scrap from time to time.
