Hi after a discussion on here i checked my water supply and found it to be very hard water i have also noticed white spots in certain areas of the tank is this limescale and can something be done about it??

There are a few commercially available "inline" water filters that will help with hard water such as the API tap water filter,  also available are water filters from B&Q that are predominantly just a carbon filter but these too will help reduce Calcium & fluoride deposit build up. RO water available from LFS or install a unit of your own at home (costly item) and not forgetting water softening "pillows" can be bought but some say that other issues may result from using these (don't know what these issues are never looked into it)

White spots could also be fungus, you will see limescale mostly making streaks around the waterline and leaving deposts on/inside your equipment.

Thanks i will take that on board .. the white spots are just on the ornaments and stones i put whife spot treatment in just in case

The spots on the decor is not whitespot aka ich. That only appears on fish.

I see from your other thread that you have shrimps and snails. Check the whitespot treatment instructions - most of them contain copper which will kill shrimps and snails.
