Hi,

What Tempreature range + ph value is best for keeping Honeys?

Probably been asked loads of times before

Hiya

They like soft water and and a PH or no less than 6ish but no more than 7.5.

As for temp I keep mine at 24oC which I know is in their range but I can't remember exactly what their range is.

Personally I would describe Honeys as delicate too. I've lost 3 fish since I've had my aquarium and they've all been Honeys. and just when I thought I had 2 healthy ones, 3 months later one is sick :(

Most fish can be acclimatised though. PH isn't a huge issue for most of them so it's up to you really.

Do you have Bog wood? A big lump of that could lower the PH sufficiently.

Really?

I have some soaking in a bowl outside. May introduce it to the tank tonight to see if it effects it.

Righto, I have just chucked in my bogwood, lets see how it effects the ph.

Fingers crossed.

My tap water is 7.5 but the water in my tank is sometimes as low as 6.8 (usually about 7 though) so it should get you down far enough.

As said, pH is THAT much of an importance. As long as it is not swaying all over the place often.

Personally my Honeys were kept in 26C with a neutral pH.
