My new pleco which I believe to be a L052 Dekeyseria sp. or known as a flounder or butterfly pleco but was sold to me as a "clown plec" is a beautiful specimen.
Yesterday his belly was a lovely pale lemon, almost silver colour - today it has a tinge of red/pink around his sides and 'chest'. His mouth also seems a bit reddish.
So, I am wondering whether he may have attached himself to the heater which is set at 25 degrees celsius. The heater is a Aqua One 200 watt glass heater, and as far as I am aware it isnt really that hot to the touch? So could my beloved Crawford the Pleco be hugging the heater abit too tightly if he has developed this discolouration? There doesn't seem to be any blisters so maybe he is having a blood rush? I simply dont know. Any suggestions?
