Half Cat Litter, Half Play Sand

I'm going to be having half tesco cat litter and half argos play sand in my tank. Will the two mix into each other or will i have to put some sort of plastic in between them to keep them seperate?

you wont have to put anything in-between, iv used tesco's and play sand before, just make sure the sand cap is a big one

Regarding the sand cap, do you mean make sure the sand is a thick layer?
