Hagen Natural C02 System

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has had any experience with one of these

I recently bought 2 for my trigon 190 and after 3 days the bubbles are very few and far between. I followed the instructions very closely and used Silver Spoon granulated sugar for the mix. The instructions say that the units should be fully functional after 48 hours but the bubbles are about 1 every 1-2 minutes and most are getting stuck in the ladder.

Can anyone see a fundamental flaw in any of the above? the ladders are positioned as close to the surface as possible.

Any help or suggestions will be very useful and much appreciated thanks

I have had one of these for about 3 weeks, when I first got it I used the sachets that came with it and it didn't work so I used the recipe pinned at the top of this forum and it works very well for about a week.
