not that im nosey.. much :shifty: but a few of us ( i have misplaced priorites too sometimes) < have exactly that

been having a look at the pic section going back yrs and have noticed that some memebers could do with a carpet,or a new sofa .. yet they have fantastic looking tanks with absolutley the best of everything.. big ££££

it obviously isnt just me that would rather live a "simple" life and spend money on my tanks etc  tho i am getting better, the kids are allowed 2 blankets on the beds now

so lets have it ..... what have you spent £ on for your tank when you really know you should have bought something for the house instead or paid an outstanding bill ?? and exactly on a scale of 1-10 (really bad) how guilty did u feel, and have you ever lied about the price of something.. or even worse said youd had it for free and hidden the bank statements -- mm i know i have

c`mon dont be shy!

The majority of money from christmas/b-days for the past 5 years has gone on fish and reptile stuff, live in an ex council house in the worst town ever, and am only 15  Not just a hobby, an obsession. :look:
This year I play to get a £500 snake

i just dont tell other half that i have got new fish tank ect i just hide them for a few days and they suddenly appear lol
and i never ever tell him i have bought fish.
he is not really interested in them so he doesnt really notice, bliss

i got some money for my birthday...and my mum told me to put a fraction of it in the bank...on the way i passed my favourite aquatic shop and spent it :X

it didnt go down well  not really to do with this but anyway.

ive got to agree with cheesy feet..it is an obsession

..Oh and forgot to say, I have a secret leopard gecko I have hiding in a cupboard, bought from a reptile show

one of the main topics of the arguements I;ve had with wife lately have been on her discovery of how much I spend on fish/snake and car etc!!!

I've not spent for a while and its hard!!!

I prefer to think of it as more of a "let's make a deal" thing. New carpeting & such in the living room? Sure, but I need to drill a bunch of tanks, and install overflows for water changes. Putting a bathroom downstairs is a great idea! As long as I have to dig a sump & install an ejection pump for that I may as well dig a sump & install a pump for tank drainage in the fish room. Two for not much more than the price of one! Plus, the fishroom pump can be pressed into service on one of the other sumps if a pump goes out at a bad time.

Everything is negotiable, as long as you present it properly. Win/win is the key. If my wife sees this she will kill me.

I've been working at the LFS over most of my holidays when I was at school...and started full time as soon as I left with only 1 week away as a holiday, so I vowed to spend all the money I earn during the would-be summer holiday period on fish/weekends/nights out.

So right now I have nothing else I'm really supposed to be spending on :D.

As soon as I get my 5x2x2 I'll stop spending and start saving to do some travelling towards the end of my gap year.

I guess I could spend the money on more useful things...like driving lessons, a new laptop and reading material for uni....but meh.
