Our lfs sold this to my mate today telling him its an african cichlid but it will be fine in a community tank but the name escaped him my friend not knowing any different bought it but gave it to me when i explained things to him thing is what is he i was thinking juvie aulonocara anyone else got other ideas?

I have some juvenile yellow peacocks (Aulonocara baenschi ) which look very similar to your picture.

If it helps any mine seem pretty shy even compared to yellow labs and are usually last out when food is being served - very un-aggressive (if thats a word!). Suit a community of similar types - I've read Aulonocara shouldn't be kept with any of the more aggressive Malawis like Maylandia and such like. Mine seem happy enough with Labs and a couple of pindani

Could be if you look at him up close he has hints of yellow and greenish.
