Guppy Traped Behind Co2 Diffuser,help

So this morning when i checked my tanks i found poor purple guppy traped behind or in diffuser he looked very worn out guess hed been there all night,i quickly released him but he just kinda hiding behind a onion plant staying away from his mates,is he in shock or sumthing,its a hagen nutrphen co2 diff and reaction can!

Hes not himself nomore just sits near the filter intake,he some food though,but his tail seems to have lost couler.

How did he get in there if he couldnt get out!
