I have a guppy with a red tail and a few days ago I had a good look at his tail and it looked as if someone has cut it with scissors. Not around the edge but from the edge to the body of the fish. I have put some treatment for fin rot and some other diseases in the tank just to make sure and keep my fish safe but it has not healed. This treatment was put in a few days ago but only once. Should I be worried??

There is a siamese fighter but he/she is really calm and doesn't seem to bother the guppies. There is 1 adult guppy witch is a male. There are 2 male baby guppies (1 and a half months old). 2 platies (small and male). 1 male molly (dalmation).

I've had it happen twice where a males tail has split (perfect clean edge as though it had been cut with scissors), both times its healed up noticeably within 3-4 days... each day a bit more had mended back together until I couldn't see where it had been.

I have had another look at it and it is starting to get better. Thank you to everyone who has helped me. The little guy is nearly better

Thanks, but it is nearly better and I dont think I need to interfere with the water at this point.

It is also used to remove bacteria and I have a small amount of ammonia. The medication is used for bacteria removal as well. The instructions say it can be used for this.
