My male sometimes get this... I to would like to know what this is.

Cheers,
Paradise<3!

as your male guppy's are only 8 weeks old they are probably still developing there full colours.
some can take 6 months or more to colour up.
also a fish can some times show different avariations of colour under certain Light conditions.
even if your guppy gets stressed it can temporary change or lose colour.

Color loss to stress is quite common among many fish as Fish48 has said. Unless you are seeing something similar to a melanoma, all will be fine. Among swordtail / platy crosses, melanomas are quite common and the fish were used extensively for skin cancer research at one time. Most other fish do not display this particular problem.

going thru pictures of male guppies alot of them have that so it has to be common i guess it just is color.. for one of them it just stays on them then the other ones it disappears and comes back all the time

i had a nice female and my 5 week olds have some nice color - a little yellow and mostly black

okay well the babies have grown i can tell male from female now and as i see it i have 5 males and 4 females out of the red mothers fry and all fry from the moscow female r all female which is about 7 :) saw one of the males try to breed with my fry so i cant wait till my tank is filled with colorful beautiful guppies :D
