Yes they can but not to bad.

Dont get me wrong here, they dont jusp all the time it's just now and then thats why most people dont see it.

guppies do jump out of tanks for no apparent reason.

obviously some peeps might not have experienced this, so they are saying "guppies dont jump"

As a general rule, you should have a lid on your tank to stop this from happening.

Sliding glass covers would be better to those with larger lighting systems(Over tank luminairs, metal halides etc) but the trouble then is that a lot of light bounces off, so it can't be done effectively.
