The guppy I got 2 days ago is acting weird. He every once in a while falls to his side and sinks to the bottom of the tank. He was already in quarantine so that isn't an issue, but I put him in a betta cup with a little bit of tank water to hep him get oxygen, as he is having issues breathing, and is breathing from the surface. Every once in a while he stops swimming, and i turn the cup a bit to 'jump start' him. Wha can I do? This is the second fish I might lose in a week! I lost ome guppy from the same lfs yesterday, and apollo might be sick. Gr!

How the heck did this topic get posted 3 times? whoops on my part

How many gallons does the quarentine tank he used to be in hold? Is it cycled and what are your recent ammonia, nitrate and nitrite stats in it?
Delta guppys tend to be plagued by internal bacterial problems and if he isn't being able to maintain balance in the water/stay upright i would treat him and the other guppys with some internal bacterial med even if they aern't ill yet, use it to be on the safe side as if he's been with them at some point they'll most likely have what he has too.

Is he eating properly and what is his weight like? Take him out of the betta cup and put him back in the quarentine tank as it won't be doing him any good, try to keep his enviroment as stress free as posible, "jump starting" him isn't going to give him any more enrgy than he already has and will just be stressing him out- does the quarentine tank have a filter?

Unfortunately he died. Not much of a surprise. I will treat the remaining one with internal meds.

What about the other questions? Delta guppys are much more difficult to keep than standard ones and you are going to need the perfect enviroment for them to get through quarentining and survive...
