Hi

We are getting a Biorb aquarium shortly, and are wanting to put guppies in it. I think I read somewhere that you shouldn't put guppies in an aquarium less than 6 weeks of it running, due to their tails

Can anyone back this up or shed any more light?

Thanks

Sam

Guppies are relatively hardy so if your water stats are okay then it shoudl be fine, although it is advised to start a tank with more hardy fish such as danios or platies.

wrong advice !!
you shouldnt be putting any fish in a tank unless it is fully cycled!

Yes guppies are very sensitive to ammonia and will suffer without good water quality-cycle 1st -enjoy fish 2nd (and longer) !
