I had two guppies being treated for internal parasites. One of the guppies has died leaving the lone guppy isolated and alone during treatment.

I am doing a salt treatment where you raise the temperature of the tank and add 2 tablespoons (1 for every 5 gallons) of salt everyday. They say the treatment can take up to 20 days though I see significant improvement in the surving guppy already.

My question is what kind of effect can loneliness and isolation have on a fish? Can he survive the rest of the time like this?
I know buying a companian and introducing it to an already infected tank is beyond stupid, so what else is there?

He should be fine on his own. I never realy seen a guppie, (or any fish for that matter.) crave company.

If he looking better already and not stressed by being on his own I would leave him.

I agree, no point in making another fish go through treatment for no reason.

Dont raise the temp ... It will hurry the parasites living process and they will reproduce quicker !!!! Get some medicine not salt .....

Tried medicine twice already and no results. Thats the point of raising the temp. Still not working. Internal parasites seems a difficult battle to win.
