Guppies and sharkfish are both brackish
fish. Are they brackish at the same level?
In other words, can they share a brackish
tank, or does one need more salt than the other?

What's a "sharkfish"? Do you mean Hexanematichthys seemanni, the Colombian shark catfish?

Guppies don't need brackish water. They like it, but they don't need it.

Anyway, assuming we're talking about guppies and Colombian shark catfish, then yes, they have overlapping salinity tolerances, and both can be kept at SG 1.010-1.025. Colombian shark catfish don't really have a preferred salinity, but many aquarists have found something around 1.010 (~50% seawater) works very well.

However, Colombian shark catfish will view guppies as food. They might not eat them at once, but they will eat them eventually. Colombian shark catfish actually feed primarily on invertebrates in the wild, especially shrimps and crabs, but small fish are certainly on the menu.

Cheers, Neale

I agree. Remember that these catfish will grow into large and powerful animals. They need a relatively large tank, and will eagerly snap up a small guppy being kept in the same tank.
