Female Bettas  . They had 3 of them. 2 white and one red. I don't know if this is a good thing or a really bad thing. :(

Yep bettas are quite common at walmart and most of the people on the betta section of the forum who have saved bettas got them from there.

I know, but I have never seen female bettas at wal-mart before tonight. Maybe I just missed em before.

My Walmart has their female bettas in with mollies. They are always pretty beat up :( Next time they get them in I'm going to rescue a few...if they stay in there too long they end up getting torn up by the mollies. Why can't they put them in the cups like the male bettas? Atleast then they would have some what of a chance. Or maybe even put them in with the ADF's and the plecos or some other peaceful fish. :-(

Well, these were in cups. Good thing too. They wouldn't last lomg in their tanks. Every time I go in the fish section, there are dead fishies.

I've always wanted to walk up to the guy that runs the fish section at wal-mart and ask "Do you know anything about fish keepiong and aquariums?" But I've never had the guts. As soon as my 75G gets here I'm going to rescue some fish from walmart :look:

I just sent this to them through Walmart.com. Lets see if anything happens.

I frequently shop at Wal-mart #1321, located in. I often buy aquariium supplies from this store. I find it appalling that every time I shop that department I often find dead fish floating in their tanks. This has been on the last 6 occasions. And I am in there at least 2-3 times a week. I have informed employees only to be told that was not their department, and I have told a department manager. He took care of removing the carcasses from the tanks, but obviously there is a problem in the tanks and somethng is killing the fish. I would hazard a guess that they are not being properly looked after. This is also very disturbing for my small children to witness. I keep fish as pets, and my children have an appreciation for life and this bothers them. I know a lot of people look at fish as throw away pets, but in my opinion they are just as much a valid pet as a cat or dog. I also believe a call to the ASPCA will be necessary if I do not notice an improvement.

Good job! I joined a web site about walmart treating their fish worse than a infant would.
I wrote an email to the senior manager of my walmart, but I never got any response.

I am really ticked with my wal-mart too!!! I see like 7-8 dead fish PER TANK and they don;t take them out. I also think they just throw them in with other ones whether they go together or not! Also, I have a VERY hard time keeping them alive. EVERY SINGLE FISH i get from there contracts ich or velvet (very rare) and I lose nearly all of them :( ! I always end up having to treat them after I get them. NOR do they separate the ones that have the diseases from the healthy ones and they lose their whole stock. AND the guy told me they don't worry if they die b/c they receive free fish or money for all the ones that weren't sold b/c they died!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 I am in my wal-mart 4-5 times a week! I hate their lines too. I have the "That's not my department" story so many times that I quit asking for help in there. IF IT'S NOT YOUR DEPARTMENT, WHY ARE YOU OVER HERE??

I actully got a betta there about 2 years ago and it died. I bought another one and that one lasted 3 months than it died. The I bought another one and that one died within 2 hours of when I got home! Maybe I'm bad luck, but I made sure the tanks where ready to house a fish. And I thought they were!

It's b/c walmart tends to have quality and care problems! I have had the same prob!

Its sucks! It seems to happen right as you get attached with them and name them!

You no how they have the 90 days money back thingy?? Well it's always my luck that the fish dies on the 91st day!!! It has happened so many times... I think they rigg 'em

Your lucky! My walmart is only 5 days! And they think thats long!
