Yes, many of the 25 or so Morgurnda species i am aware of are endangered in the wild due to introduction of foreign species and habbitat destruction, all the fish we see in the hobby are captive bred. Luckily M.adspersa and M.morgurnda are both easy to breed so there are sizable captive bred populations of both in the hobby but the adspersa seems to be the more common, at least here in the UK anyway.
