Gro-Lux Fluorescent Tube

I have a 3 ft tank, but the problem is the hood will not fit a 3 ft tube. I am thinking of buying a 30 inch Gro-lux fluorescent tube and reflector and fitting it to the hood, has anyone had any experience with these bulbs. They are supposed to promote photosynthesis however are they bad for fish? (2 Goldfish.)

Just as good as any bulb you can get for aquariums despite being told they are "the best for plants" . Plants don't care about kelvin. The fish couldn't care less either.
