Hi all!
I came accross your site when looking for some information on a filter unit and I am truly impressed! So much so that I have decided to join!
I have been keeping cold and tropical fish for about 5 years and during that time we have had our fair amount of issues! The majority when I switched from cold to tropical and had a faulty filter unit, we lost a lot of fish trying to sort that one out, sadly.
I have just upgraded from this 27 litre tank:
We have had this for about 3-4 years. The light unit failed and it was just too small, so an upgrade was required.
Enter the new tank:
An Interpet Fishbox 65 Litre.
This does us, it's just the right size for the room but still gives us a good volume of water. I purchased it from the wonderful ebay at a knock-down rate! (typical Yorkshireman!)
I used the water from the old tank, plus the gravel (horrible multi-coloured stuff) and the old filter running in parallel with the new Interpet PF2 and I intend to keep it running in paralell for another 4 weeks or so. But it seems to have gone okay and the water quality is good and the fish are happy so all-in-all it's worked out very well, with out costing an arm and a leg.

Will be looking to increase my stock of fish in few weeks time, it's a community tank so any recommendations would be appreciated.
Well that's me, I look forward to being part of the forum from now on.
