Hi never had this poblem b4 but the water keeps going green and clouding up even tried doing daily water changes,,,tanks alway been in the same place ,,,also smells quite bad aswell,,any advise needed thanks.

have a read of the link in my sig 'bacterial blooms'

cloudy water is normally a bacterial bloom, green water is normally algae, bad smelling water is not a good sign, can you describe the smell to us.

can you describe a bit more about the tank, how big is it, how long has it been set up, what fish do you have, what is your maintenance routine, what are your water stats at the moment?

Generally I like my tanks to take on a green tinge but I am also concerned about the bad smell. A properly functioning aquarium will sometimes have a slight earthy odor but should never smell bad. Green water algae does not cause an off odor but things like blue-green algae do. BGA is really a cyano-bacteria but is often mistaken for an algae and even is called algae.
