Okay, so I have an empty 30-gallon tank I'm setting up or selling so I was looking at fish for it. I came across the Green Spotted Puffer as an option. I did some reading and they seem like awful fish to keep. They don't get as big as other puffers yet are still extremely aggressive. Tankmates are really out of the question due to this. Having no snails or other cleaners means a lot of algae clean-up is in order. And you have to keep it clean, they lack scales and gill covers so they are highly intolerant to any chemical changes. They are only wild-caught so sickness and parasites are common. They look nice but not as nice as other fish you can actually keep in a community tank or even as nice as other puffers. I guess if you have kept many fish and just want the challenge of this thing I might see that. If tank raising these is so hard and, from what I see, very boring, just let them stay wild.
