Went to maidenheadf today and seen some green rasboras
would like to find out some more info on them just wondering if anyone knowd their latin name

i dont know anything else about them apart from they were green and name on ticket was green rasboras

thanks sarah x

just wondering as a future replacement for the harlequin - my 6 of harlequins are 6 years old (3 are their babies that have grown up) so dont know how much longer they have left

thats them thanks hun
they look like a good replacement if and when the harlequins go to the big fish tank in the sky ;)
harlequins are past their sell by dates as it is but they are still spawning and look healthy so might get another year or so out of them ;)

I have no idea how long rasboras live, mine are only 5 years old and look very young in the way they act and swim around the tank. It could take a while if you just wait for them to be done in the tank.

My minnows have started dying off in the rekord - not due to illnes but i got them for my son 12th june 2004 - didnt know how old they were then but they were already fully grown
So my question is would these be ok in the rekord 60 - 54 litre 2 ft tank

thanks Sarahx

Yeah, I am afraid the minnows are dieing from old age. Any minnow after 3 years old, at lest I know this is the case for Rosy Reds, are old. 3 years is about the average age for a minnow, since you got 5 years out of these, I would say that is pretty good. :good:

Yeah, they should be just fine in a 2 foot tank. I would say max about 15-20 minnows in a 2ft tank.

so would the green rasboras be happy in the 54 ltr 2 ft tank

if the remaining normal wcmm die off (which i lost another 2 today )
then i will be left with 5 longfin and 5 golden minnows + 8 khuli loaches in the tank
running with a juwel filter and a stingray 15 filter
