he wont attach to anything! he peels himself off any rock and he likes to sit in the sand. i dont know what to do

Let him find his own place, hes only moving as the conditions aren't right for him. ie too much or not enough light, Too much or not enough flow.

How mature is the tank? How long have you had the nem?

They prefer to be on a fine sand.

I hope you have covered all powerheads etc? Long tents, do indeed prefer to be on the sand bed without too much flow.
