Great News! Tff Meet Is Happening

I have been planning this with timmystood for a couple of weeks now and his boss, Tim works at Maidenhead, has given him the go ahead for a meet to take place there. For anyone who has not been it is one of the best Maidenhead's in the country, catering for tropicals, marines, coldwater and planted aquarium.

I would say what they specialise in but to be honest it's well...................everything!

Great corys, plecs, oddballs, barbs, loaches, tetras, you name they've got it.

Tim has assured me that he will be working on the day so I don't think there will be a better chance for everyone to pick up some livestock with pretty much one on one service. (I'm first in queue for plecs and corys though! )

There is a link at the bottom to the store's website, I would advise bringing a camera for a couple of superb display tanks.

22nd March is the date we are meeting, I will confirm time nearer the date. I would appreciate input as to what times would be good for people, the store is open late on that day until 7.30pm, it is a Thursday, so I was looking towards a meet time of approx. 3.00-4.00pm to beat the rush hour traffic and leave after it has gone. This way it will allow people that live close enough to come after work and we will still be there chatting away and spending our pennies hopefully!!

Yeah it would be great to see some of you guys in there! George Farmer will back me and John about the shop being a great store. If you look here you will see our shop is the top rated Maidenhead Aquatics in the country!
I'll be working that day and like John says we're open till 7.30pm and I normally get there for 10.30ish so anytime after that is good. Will be great to meet some more of you! I've already become great friends with ghent_3rd and George Farmer via the shop.
We have loads to offer, many marine display tanks and planted tropical tanks... well.. come and see for yourself! Will be great to meet other TFF members and browse and great shop at the same time!

The only problem with Saturdays/Sundays is that we get really busy and so I probably wouldn't be free and there wouldn't be time for everyone to browse at lesiure.

yeah if it was a weekend we'd probably come, my family live in p'borough so we could combine a visit. we wouldn't be able to come down midweek though. can understand why you can't have it then though

Say hello to me for my huge fat porker of a plec that ended up there in one of their large tanks. He outgrew my tank and I needed a good home for him. I heard about Maidenhead and decided to go and look.
Great place! They offered to take him, and a few days later I took him to a spacious new home.

Must have cost me a hundred quid in petrol there and back twice, but worth it!

I must admit if I am planning a fish buying session - I would head in that direction first!

I understand people's point of view but as Tim said they are mega busy at the weekend so fish-buying would be very difficult.

To be honest I had originally planned to go to purchase live-stock on that day anyway and thought, "why not put it up as a meet?"

I went for the Thursday as people who work within a close-ish area to the store can come after work as they are open to 7.00pm.
At the end of the day I am going whatever because it was planned before the meet, if people wish to join me then that will be great!

Yup, 2 people. It's also worth mentioning that it was actually *cancelled* but these 2 people failed to read the thread in the days before the meet-up and for this reason showed up on their own.

To be honest, I don't see this one work out either. Thursday is a very odd day for a meet-up.
As Tim knows, I simply live too far away to actually come to a meet-up over there

It's not really a meeting as such. I'll be working that day whatever (unless I win the lottery) and ghent_3rd will be coming down whatever (unless he wins the lottery).. so it's really just a case of 'if your around, then come and see us' sort of thing
