Gravel Stuck In Fantail Mouth!

Hi all,

Basically had another drama today!! I was upstairs doing so research on how to look after my danio fry and I saw some info that moss balls have mirco organisms that the fry could feed on.. So I quickly thought let me go down and put one moss ball in my fry tank.. As I am looking at my tank I see my fantail pepper had a gravel piece stuck in his/her mouth! He/she was trying to get it out and was laying on the gravel.. I got a net trapped him/her in it and literally held him/her in my hands gently (the face/mouth held up) and with a tweezer took out the gravel piece.. I was so scared that I might hurt him/her, but lucky he/she is okay...
But it was a scary feeling I thought I was gonna lose him/her!
It was quite surreal holding pepper in my hand!!

Have seen it happen a lot of times, might be worth considering changing your gravel! Either something smaller that wont get stuck or larger that he/she cant pick up. Personally I would go smaller as goldies love to sift through the gravel...

But worth considering because what if it happens again and you arent around to help?
