Hi all
I have a red dwarf gourami, bit of a bully when it comes to feeding time (he pushes all the tetras out of the way and hoovers all the food up). I've noticed he's pooing a LOT, and I dont mean little ones either... big long stringy ones 2 - 3 x the length of his body at a time. I gravel vacced on weds night, he did 2 massive poops yesterday evening (that I saw him doing), and this morning when I've gone to do a shrimp count I've noticed the bottom is covered in long worm like poos again. I've only ever seen one of my tetras pooing and it was a small one (not surprised cos they never get much food after fatty gourami has finished).
Are they usually this messy? I don't over feed - 1 small feed every day, 1 day sprinkled on top for mr fatty to hoover up and day 2 put into a pipe and blown into the lower part of the tank so that the tetras get something to eat - and every 4 days no food and an algae tablet dropped to the bottom, which the tetras eat and the shrimp. once every 10 days they get a small pinch of dried blood worm. He's constantly eating anything he can, from the food at feeding time, to the weird white stuff on the heater suckers and the plants in the tank.
The poop looks like really long worms and I've found when it lands on the moss, the shrimp won't go near it so I have to get the vac out again (I may have shrimp fry soon so I'm a little worried about vaccing them up
)
