Today, I went to a fish shop with dad and got a lovely Betta.

There where 2 in the tanks already and i asked if they had any more, the guy had a look and said he would look out the back aswell.

He came back with 3 small cups with a Betta in each

I felt so sorry for the little things I had to get one. I wasnt planning on getting one so soon but I had to have the beautiful red male with lovely long fins.

I snapped it up and also got 2 Pepper Cats for the same tank.

I put them all in and turned off the lights before I went off to work, but when I came back and turned the lights on 4 hours later my Betta was in my cabonga plant not moving  i thought he was dead, i got the net out and gave him a little prod and he moved :D

He slowly started to move around now but he seems to be very upset, not sure if it was because he was in a cup or what, but hes slowly coming to.

I dropped some blood worm in hoping he would eat a bit but he didnt move and my Head and Tail Light Tetras and Cats got it.

Is he ok?

hmm hes in a tank now right? Now the first time i bought a better (long time ago) he had the same symptoms turned out he developed fungi after clamped fins and died. However yours may simply be experiencing stress...and exploring new enviroment. Give him a chance and yes bloodworms great ;) for new fish...check up on him regularly, you can follow my sig to diseases to see if any symptoms match if you spot any.

Good luck ;)

Congratulations on your new betta! Yeah, follow what Kossy said. Your betta could be just tentative because of his new surroundings. I don't feed any new betta I get for about 30 hours. Give him time to relax and avoid an upset stomach. That way, he'll be hungry when I feed him. ;)

ok cheers guys, he has livened up alot since last night when i posted this thread.

kossy - yes mate hes in a tank now, the one described in my sig

he parades up and down the tank like a little poser, he doesnt look stressed anymore and i think hes trying to tease the cat :kira:

I will wait until tonight to feed him then, i will drop in a little bit more bloodworm and see what he thinks, maybe that will get him going ;)
