Got A Used Filter

I recently got a used filter, but it's very dirty and I'd like to clean it. What's the best way? Just some hot tap water and a scrub brush? I would imagine I shouldn't use any kind of detergent.

If it has hard water marks on it, try using white vinegar to loosen them up and then rub with a plastic scrubber or toothbrush to get them off.

If you are worried about bacteria, soak it for a little while in some Clorox water.
