Just came home from work to see that the boyfriend had added two nickel size angels to the tank - its about 35 gallon bow front with a juvenile blood parrot cichlid, and a shoal of tiger barbs....

is this going to be a problem?

Normally I would have researched before adding a fish but he saw them and thought they would look nice (shakes head)

im not sure about the blood parrot but keep an eye on the barbs as they will possibly attack the angels long fins

im rubbish on stocking advice

i just want a BF that buys me fish :(

HAHA - he had NEVER owned a fish until we moved in together....he is trying to become a fish keeper....just all too often believes what the pet store people tell him! still....its cute that he tries :)....I will keep an eye on the tank to make sure everyone adjusts to their new room mates

Yeah as said watch the tigerbarbs. Suprised shops would advice as they are a typical mix to avoid, tigerbarbs are generally more nippy because they need a big hierarchy how big is the school at the moment? If you have room try and get it upto 10 (if its not already)

I think the blood parrot will be fine as well, though their personalities can be vastly different between each fish. Also just to check are these the man made parrots or the true parrot cichlids?

I have 12 tiger barbs - I knew the more the better :)
