I just went to the pet store and bought a 1 Gallon or 2 Gallon, something like that, starter tank for the pregnant black molly that I have, I bought a light for it that goes on the top and it has a plant, gravel, and a sponge filter, I put the water conditioner in it too and I'm just wondering if it sounds good, what I got for her..
-1 Gallon Tank (I only got the little one, I have no room in my house for a bigger one) this one is in my room right now..
-Sponge Filter
-Plant
-Gravel
-Light for the Tank (it's the right size for the tank that I got) (I was told not to get a heater cause it would make it too hot for the tank, so the light would make it the right tempurature, right?)

Does that sound good? When should I put the mama in? (her stomach is getting pretty square now) And when she does have the babies, do I take her out right away?

I put her in it about 2 hrs ago, she seems happier in it, but is always at the bottom of the tank near the plant, and she's getting really "hyper" I guess you could say... does that mean she's going to have her babies? She only started doing that about 5 minutes ago  any suggestions?

EDIT: It's been about 25 minutes since she started going "hyper" she's pooping alot, does that mean she's getting ready to have them? you know, like cleaning out her system? Lol I dunno... just an idea...

My big mama has been swimming like crazy this evening too. It just came over her and she did it non-stop for about 25 minutes. She is calmer now so I don't know that it meant anything. I just now fed her and she is still enjoying the company of her fry. As of today she is 41 days since her last drop so it could be any minute now or next week. I don't have any pictures from today that I like, so I will be back to taking more now that she isn't moving so fast. If you haven't already fed her today, it might make her feel a bit more at ease.
At one time, back around the last ice age, we heated all of our tanks by using the right size bulb in the light fixture. If you track the temperature with a thermometer it can be done, but it is not easy getting a good consistent temperature that way. In a 1 gallon tank, I would not leave the female with the fry after she is done. Even if she does not chase the fry, that tank is very small for the female to live in for long.
Did you do anything to get her filter going? If not you will be facing a cycle in that tank very soon. Something that has worked for me in the past is to clean a filter in a new tank so that the new filter will get some of the beneficial bacteria on it and can then increase the number of bacteria and get cycled quickly. It would be worth a try and as long as the water doesn't get to looking too bad it will not hurt the fish. It won't look as nice but may help get you past he uncycled stage on that new sponge filter. No matter what you do, that new tank will need you to monitor the water chemistry.

The filter is working fine still, I put some of the water from my 15 gallon tank (where she usually is) in with her new water, is that okay? I didn't put alot of it, maybe about 1/2 cup or so and the rest is all new water, she had this white tube like thing near her anal fin, but now it's darker, like a brownish black color, is that a good sign? And I just put a thermometer in, whats the tempurature range for them?
