I know but the ones I have seen on you tube look great. I presume they are one and the same

From what I can find this common name is usually applied to either Monopterus albus or Synbranchus marmoratus, however, if you can I'd get a pic and see if someone on here can ID it.

either way, 3 feet's gonna need a really really large tank!

Either way someone needs to post a pic! It is probably a swamp eel and will get to three feet, but there is a chance that it could be a true eel and need salt. Spaghetti eels sometimes get mixed up with tulip eels.
