Hello,

I have two severums, Tango is Red and is more dominant, Pancake is golden and is a little scared of Tango.

I've notice that when Pancake thinks noone is looking, he keeps shivering. Is this normal severum behaviour or does he have some kind of irritation?

Thanks.

shivering is normal, both mine do it although the female does tend to do it more. Keep a close eye though for signs of rubbing against decor, then its an irritation.

Yes this is normal, its a cichlid trait, usually seen either through two cichlids going at one another or a flirty come on..as long as there not fighting then it wont be a problem

Thanks for the quick replies.

That's a relief! They did fight when I first put them together but now they seem to be fine, only slightly aggressive around feeding time.

How many can you keep together if tank volume wasn't a restriction?

My male used to do this when courting my female...They both did it when cleaning a rock/slate with there mouths for eggs too.I'll have to dig up a video.
