Golden Pothos???

curious if anyone is growing these??? I’m slowly going away from pothos vines, but in this tank, with many, I have one folder variation, that seems to be thriving the sam as the variegated and common… anyone else have one in a tank???

Thats not golden pothos.

It's something even nicer.

That is actually philodendron. Lemon lime variety. Ive got it myself, though not in a tank. Its a stunning plant and will do just as well as pathos.

@Magnum Man. Here’s another one to look out for. The silver satin pothos. I used to have these in my dart frog vivarium, it's a beautiful plant. The silver color is very shiny and metallic.

i agree that this looks more like Philodendron hederaceum, with the variegated ones being the cultivar "Brazil"

How do you keep it in the tank?? every time i try it sinks to the bottom without any tape or something

I mostly just stick the stem in a hang on pot, and fill the pot with “cocoa puffs” ceramic media balls, and hang the pot int the water…

in my 10 gallon shrimp tanks, I started with a good length of vine, and twist tie / zip tie the vine runner to the stand, with the base of the stem in the tank a good ways…

with the hoya vines in covered tanks, I just slip the vine under the back side ( non opening part ) of the cover, with the rooting part of the stem well into the water… in this case the roots are not mostly contained, and end up growing all around the inside of the tank…

I currently have golden pothos, its doing well. I have even cut some vines off and have them "floating" in my 15 and 33 gallon.
I purchased a printed plant holder set from Etsy a couple years ago. I have 3 in my 125.
Hard to see...

I had the swiss cheese vining monstera before. It grew like crazy but I didn't have the amount of plants in the tank. Unfortunately I don't have the photo on my phone anymore.

It is a little wide, but I have some old filter media in the containers to hold the roots so it serves (possibly) 2 services.

I start them in dollar store cutlery holders, then once the roots have developed and I have some stem, wrap a little insulated gardening wire (also dollar store) around the stem and hook them over the edge at the back. You can also jam them between the wall and sponge of an HOB filter - my trick for big snake plants and 'chinese evergreen' plants.

I have one old, low quality HOB that I pulled all the media from, and which now runs with nothing in it but peace lily roots. It's an electrical flower pot.

I also did the filter thing with some monstera vines, didn’t need to touch it for over a year, but eventually the roots finally stopped the impeller, and it required a trim
