It's not $80 worse case scenario buy $8 of meds and treat it in your current set up. Hold off the Discus until your plec is better and then have a happy tank with discus and the plec. At least try your LFS. You say what's the difference between feeder fish and killing your plec... well someone may eat beef but it doesn't mean they have to kill a cow because it gets a toothache. It's just another wasted life.

I don't believe in putting fish down for the reasons you had.
If you can't afford meds why bother keeping fish, what happens if the discus get ill.
I think it was a very selfish act to be honest.

I didn't put the pleco down. My initial thoughts were the pleco's columnaris is hard to treat. I truely thought putting him down would be the most humane thing to do. I unfortunately have been taking alot of heat for that. I'm not a cruel person nor does anyone here actually know me. I would take my shirt off by back if I could help someione. Nobody has the right to judge someone without even knowing them. As I stated I will call lfs today and see iff someone will be willing to treat the pleco. I definently don't plan to add any chemicals to my 150 gallon tank the pleco is currently in.
