Hi all

Here's my latest addition,3 male golden endlers, they have been acclimatising for the past hour (usual adding tank water to bag every 5-10 mins)and i have just realeased them into my 20 gal tank :)

Here's a pic of 2 of them in the bag,the 3rd was camera shy :)

These have certainly settled into the tank, they are terrorising the other fish, nipping at their fins!!!
Is there anything i can do to stop them apart from taking them out or will they settle in peacefully?
They may look pretty but they're little demons!

Nice, where did you get them?

Hi tropic john

I got them from maidenhead aquatics, which is in the wyevale garden centre near bristol.£2.25 each :)

bumped backed up,due to problem with them. :shout:
Hi Harlequin,
I have 6 endlers and they are great no problem at all.. Have Danios ,Harlequins and Albino Corys with them.. Mind you i did add them 2 weeks after the others .. dont know if that made a difference.. Sorry not a lot of help but sure someone will put you right shortly Regards Zac

Well after 12 hours they were still hounding the poor fish, noticed one of my platys has a bit missing on her fin!

So i took them back to the lfs and acquired 4 more harlequins, they are just acclimatising now :)

Hi,
Sorry you had to take them back.. however wise decision..for the benefit of the other fish..Mine are no trouble .. swim with the others then do their own thing etc...Last week i lost a Zebra Danio, which i think from its behavour was Swim Bladder,Swimming sideways no balance .. this morning might have another.. i could be getting a little Paranoid, so will keep a close on eye on him.. If it is could be constipated.. i may well have been overfeeding...Water readings are perfect...Thats the problem with being new no experience when something like this happens.. Great to have this forum tho for advice Regards Zac

Hi Zac
Yes it was sad taking them back, but i had to think of my other fishies in the long run, sorry to hear you lost a danio,it is worrying when we are new to fishkeeping and don't know much especially about ailments and such like,I hope your fishies will be ok.
I agree with you, this forum is fab, there's always so one around to help. :)

Wow, even though it didn't work out it was interesting to see your pictures. Those are really pretty fish and I've never seen any quite like that before. I get really jealous that UK still seems to have, to some extent, "real" fish shops that actually get in unusual fish sometimes. I mean I guess we still have some here too but they seem to be so rare and spaced out here in the states.

It is a shame i had to take them back, the lfs i got them from is amazing, compared to the little lfs that have maybe 12 tanks or less in some, this place is awesome,it has about 3 aisles of tanks, stacked 3 or 4 high and around 8/10 big tanks in each row & on each side of the aisles! :D lots of fish!!!
