Gold Gourami

Hey guys,

Went to the lfs yesterday and saw a gold gourami and I liked it right away! I asked the guy a few questions and I got it! Anyone have some general info on these fish? (i.e how can you tell genders, behaviors, etc.) Thanks!!

The Gold Gourami is a color morph of the 3 Spot Gourami, Trichogaster trichopterus.

One final note: If you like the color of the Gold Gourami, take a look at at the Pearl (Trichogaster leeri) next time you're at the LFS. It's just as hardy, but slightly smaller, less aggressive, and (IMHO) far more beautiful.

Pearl gouramis are great too. i agree! Golden gouramis are lovely, but mine is a bit of a nutter, likes to do his own little mad things! Good luck with your gourami!

Thanks guys! and I do also like the Pearl Gourami my dad has a lil one growing up in a lil hex tank he has and he's going to give it to me when it gets a bit bigger .
