Going Away...what To Do?

Hey,
i have a 90L tank with 10 neon tetra's, 6 panda corys and 1 flame gourami in it.
At the end of the year i am going away with my family for about 4 or 5 days.
i was wondering what to do feeding wise

They will be fine for 5 days with no food.

Ordinarily I would say you could leave the fish without food for 5 days without problems...

However, I've recently read the odd post about Corydoras needing to "graze" more often for food than many other species.

Is there a local friend or relative that could have the tank at their house, with you leaving them a pill box for daily food rations?

They'll be just fine with no food for that short span of time. I have lots of plecos, and believe me, they find food long after I think there isn't any left in the tank. And when I got home, the tank was really clean! Seriously, don't worry, they'll be fine. But if you're really worried, just have someone come in ONCE during the time you're gone. Visitors tend to overfeed, so if you could tell them how much to feed like you'd normally feed, you're good. Really.

I went away for 10 days and a neighbour fed the fish twice. All tanks were fine. I would leave the lights off though and not on a timer if your not getting someone in to feed them.

You can buy automatic feeders which will feed them on a timer, though this may be an expensive option considering you're not going away for too long.

They're expensive and don't always work well. Honestly, they'll be fine.
