Going Away For 10 Days.....

I'm going to England for ten days for a "holiday" apparently, I've never left my fish for so long before and never went that long without a water change.
I have someone who will feed the fish (I already have it all in different food bags for each day and the rest of the food hidden) but I'm not going to be able to settle.

Last time we went away it was for 5 days I think and was cracking up.

How can I deal with this properly? Is it normal to be so obsessed I'd rather stay at home?

I've left mine a fortnight unfed before! But that was an emergency. They were fine.

Do a generous waterchange two days before you go, leave a sparse amount of food as you've already sorted out, and try to enjoy your holiday.

You could always leave instructions on how to do a small waterchange to refresh it if you're worried. Literally two buckets of water out and two in, with x amount of dechlor, but I doubt it'll need it.

Oh the woman who is feeding the fish is actually scared of fish. so I'm lucky she is doing it, I won't push her over the edge with a WC.
I've done a water change on all tanks today and cleaned out all the external filters on monday.

I'm only agreeing to the "holiday" as I'm getting a bigger tank, my girlfriend blackmailed me and negotiations are currently over 700ltrs, I'm trying for more though.
I'd rather Spain anyday.

just came back after 3 weeks in greek islands working had someone feeding them but no water change for 4 weeks all fish present and looking great the plants actually look better than ever.

Just got in at around 5pm. Spent that time until now sorting the kids out, washing clothes, picking up the dogs, water changes on all the tanks, cleaning tanks and doing a head count.
All are in good condition although the filter in the yellow bellied slider had stopped working only yesterday. The woman who was feeding the fish said this.
Needless to say with driving 1451 miles within the last 10 days, getting between 4-5 hours sleep a night and being constantly on the go for the last 10 days I'm going to have an early night.
