Yes yes, these topics are made all the time, I know, but this time it's my fry. I have guppy and platy fry/juvies that are only about a half an inch long. They are voracious eaters and eat lots of food 2 times a day. I'm going away for 5 days. I know my other two tanks will be okay for 5 days, but what should I do about them? Can they go without food for 5 days?

I moving this into the livebearers section so you will hopefully get an answer (and this will bump it back to the top).

what i would do is add plenty of live daphona just before i go and that would see then through fine with no problems.

Worst thing you could ever do though is to feed extra flake foods befor you go or when u return....

You can ask a friend, family member or a good neighbor to feed them for you.

Daphnia is a great idea, and if you can fill the tank up with live plants, the juveniles will graze on them and should be ok.
The other option is an automatic feeder and have it come on once a day with some finely crushed flake food in it.

^ if this were a adult situation, i would have replied earlier with this suggestion, i vote either daphina or feeder. Daphina being better for there health.
